<h2>Schedule Information</h2>
<p>The Celebration of Teaching &amp; Learning&#8217;s schedule is organized around central themes or &#8220;content strands&#8221; (subjects that are the focus of presentations and workshops) to help you plan your visit to the event.</p>
<p><strong>These </strong><strong>content strands are</strong>:</p>

<li><strong>Instructional Technology</strong></li>
<li><strong>Social Studies</strong></li>
<li><strong>STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)</strong></li>
<li><strong>Whole School Issues</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Within each content strand an attendee will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of different professional development experiences, including:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Plenary Sessions</strong>: Keynote presentations in the 2,000 seat main hall</li>
<li><strong>Featured Speakers</strong>: Lecture-style presentations in 200-300 seat rooms</li>
<li><strong>Workshops</strong>: 30-50 seat classroom-style rooms for hands-on interaction with instructors.</li>
</ul>
<p>To help plan your agenda and find detailed information on sessions, including descriptions, speaker biographies, session days and times, please consult the <a href="/2010-schedule/"><strong>Searchable Schedule</strong></a>. <strong>Please note: Posted schedule includes only Plenary Speakers and Featured Speakers sessions at this point.  Workshop sessions will be posted early January 2010&#8211;please check back frequently for updates.</strong></p>
<p>All presentations range from 60-75 minutes, and seating is first-come, first-served. In addition, attendees may browse the Exhibit Halls**, where over 150 vendors will present the latest in dynamic resources for the K-12 classroom.</p>

Presenters: Larry Brown, Senior Director, K - 12<br/><br/>Participants will review College Board’s new assessment for middle school, ReadiStep™, and will develop strategies for its use in conjunction with the PSAT/NMSQT® and SAT as a means to monitor students’ progress and their readiness for college-level work. Participants will also discuss assessments by which to measure academic skills, college-readiness benchmarks for districts and schools, and enhanced feedback for students.<br/><br/>

It contains quizzes, interactive activities and games, and video of a trip to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C.  Also included are interviews with a teenager charged with piracy, an inventor and the Director of the USPTO, the Honorable Jon W. Dudas.</p>
